I'm part of the GTO family now!

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and also to the GTO. I'm from Germany and my english isn't really that good, so if anyone can speak German I will like any help I'm learning english slowly and I will try to understand everything.

I had the car delivered here about one week ago, but no one really knows a lot about this car. My car handler knows all about corvettes and tells me he is one of the few corvette mechanics in Germany. Is there anything I should know like problems GTOs can have?

I'm not sure how to say in english but Germans have really bad pollution tests and they are quite expensive, but I want my car to be kind of louder and more strong.

Anyway, just wanting to say hi.

Hello and welcome. What year is the GTO you will be receiving? Some of the problems experienced by GTO owners has been model year specific. Off the top of my head, the following is a list of some of the problems I have read about:

1. Fuel rail cover on driver-side wears through rubber fuel line, which has the potential for fire.

2. Ignition cylinder wears to the point that the key can not be turned, and subsequently the car can not be started.

3. Passenger-side window leaking during exposure to large amounts of water (e.g., rain, during washing, etc).

4. Stitching on back seat head rests coming loose, thereby, causing leather to separate.

You mean these cars are not front wheel drive? Seriously, yup...lift a foot and save a tire.

8. Door lock actuators quit or go bad.

9. Gauge "gremlins" occur. Gauge needles sometimes jump to 200 mph or 8K rpm, temperature gauge goes to hot and triggers the engine overheat warning. (This usually disappears the next time the car is started.

Welcome to the forum. The above 2 are the only ones on this list that have happened to me so far, but have for others as well.
